Copper is a highly conductive material. This is why they use it in microswitches, solenoids, relays, and the Club Car DS 48-Volt Electric Reverse Switch. The more amperage, the thicker it has to be. This is a heavy-duty switch that uses a higher-grade copper that is much thicker. We highly recommend it anytime you add any upgrade that is going to increase heat. Things like high amp motors and controllers are apparent. However, things like big tires and wheels paired with lift kits can be just as big of a problem for this circuit. Making sure the Club Car switches in line are all high-amp rated is a must. The last thing you want is to install a new toy only to have one of the critical parts fail.This golf cart switch is rated for more power than the Club Car OEM unit.
